Best and worst bands

What are your best and worst bands? My worst by far are Westlife (talentless to**ers). My best is The Clash (sublime) or the Buzzcocks (massively underrated IMHO). Although I guess the irony is that Westlife are massively more successful than both (can Westlife be described as a band?)

I would define a band in this context as a group of musicians who create and perform their own material, so the boybands don't qualify. My best would be Pink Floyd or Fleetwood Mac, and my worst would beToploader ( who have had the grace to split up) and Blur, who ought to think about doing the same.

well Jetwriter, the question did ask for our own best and worst bands and not "the " best and worst bands, so I think it's a perfectly valid question, If you don't like it then ignore it, that's my policy! My best band would be U2 after 25 or so years of pretty consistent work (even the stuff I didn't like at the time seems better as time goes on) and my worst would have to be the Stereophonics because I hate the singer's voice with a passion, and so can't get past that to listen to the music properly. I agre with andy hughes and Toploader would run a close second, but i think that has something to do with Jamie Oliver..........

Best band ever is U2!! They rock so much!! Worst band ever is Busted, they are just a bunch of gonks and goons. Their guitar playing would even upset Chesney Hawkes.

My best again would be Pink Floyd because they were brilliant although I never got to see them as I am a little to young but they were and still are fantastic - music that will never out-date. As for worst there are so many.... I work in a music shop so I am partly responsible for peddling teenage cr@p but it also means that I have to listen to it all as well.

I have 2 favourites,U2 and the Cocteau Twins,and the worst band ever in my opinion has got to be Status Quo.

The worst- Too many to mention but anyone that can,t do it live is a good starting point.

I'm going to go for the Beach Boys for vocal harmonies that have never been equalled and for such an enormous impact on a generation. I also want to give a nod to Status Quo who aren't as bad as previously suggested! My worst band ever would be one of Spandau Ballet, Tenpole Tudor, Dumpy's Rusty Nuts or the Lost Prophets.
