Does anyone else find Jamie Cullum's attempts to be a cool dude unconvincing? I'm sure he's talented musically (though his type of music is not mine), but I get the impression he tries hard to be trendy. Any thoughts?

No, he doesn't. He doesn't need to, because he doesn't need to be 'trendy'. He brings a unique slant on British jazz that doesn't need to follow anyone's fashion. He's himself, I reckon. In the world of real music (as opposed to boy-band/girl-band manufactured pop), image is much less important.
I love my music, I really do. but admittedly I am not particularly musical.

My opinion of Jamie Cullum is that all he does is take classic songs, changes a few notes and keys and "makes them his own".

Well give me a studio and I could make any bloody song "my own"!!!!

What utter pants he is.

Yes he can sing OK and play the ol' Joanna very well, but I find his talent akin to any jazz bar player. I really do not know what all the fuss is about. If it wasn't for the outdated Michael Parkinson championing him to the point of peadophilic infatuation, he would be a nobody.

As for being cool? How can a man be cool when he is about 5 feet 4?

As you can tell I am not a big fan of the little pretender.
I saw him play the piano with his arse at V! Put me off my jacket potato....really it was awful
