thanx a lot i just won a tenner lol
It was started by Stuart Maconie, now a Six Music / Radio Two presenter, in his days as an NME staff writer. They were wondering what silly story they could come up with, and his was printed, and became an urban myth. With a breathless sense of irony. Stuart gleefullly confirms that people tell him this story on a regular basis. Now that is a claim to fame!
