A few years ago on a tv program, Clapton showed how he built up the riff in Layla by combining bits of several old blues songs. Can any one tell me which program it was and which songs he referenced ?
Thanks

I know he said it was based on another riff, dont know which one. Somewhere on u tube there is a clip of him playing the riff at the guitar auction, where he explains the riff was the last bit of the song and shows how he put it together, just search 'Clapton', on U tube and you should find it.
