I just want a free house, but I still have to pay a mortgage like everyone else. I just want free petrol, but I have to pay for that too.

There is *no* right to free music. Steal it or don't steal it as you wish, but for god's sake don't whine if you're finding it difficult to commit theft.
Gotta disagree there.

Once you own a house you are free to do what you want with it. Once you own a car you can let anyone drive it.
However once you own a song which you pay good money for you don't own it.

For years people have copied recording and lent/given them to friends.

The music industry want it everyway use the web to promote and sell music - but if you buy it then sell it's no no.

Why are the music industry not trying to close second hand record shops, there all over the net. I'll tell you why because its already sold and is thefore your property trying to stop it would probably be unlawful. Whats the difference if I buy the Arctic Monkees and then sell it to me giving it away on the net. Only money.

Having said that Raani your better off paying, quality is better and in peer to peer music exchanges the chances of you being hit by a virus are rather large.

Limewire has a 'free' and 'pay' version - just opt to download the 'free' version. If you have good virus software, you should be OK.
andy-hughes is right......just click on " get basic " for the free version !!
Yes Steeve, but we're not talking about what you can do with your house once you've bought it (and I agree with you) we're talking not paying for it at all; quite a major difference.
If record companies made the price of cd's more reasonable i.e. under a tenner or even cheaper then I would buy more. They've ripped us off for years so tough sh** I say. Limewire is no different to the old days, you bought an lp and your mates all taped it.
reverandfunk, completely agree with you, no one cared when everyone had hundreds of tapes all copied from records and cd's this is just a modern version of that, i use limewire myself and think its a godsend, how would i get all my random, songs that i find out about on here? in fact, think i might go and get some more..... u wanna join me waldomcfroog? ;-)
Mummy think I'll join you lol. I'll go home and download 50 random songs for free. I DJ and it's a godsend, limewire, laptop to PA sorted. If you want a really random song try Macarthur park by Richard Harris .
