I understand that it is beneficial to take Folic Acid supplements prior to falling pregnant, or at least eat food high in it. What is the best way to ensure you get the right daily amount?
If you were to take a vitamin supplement, and also eat those food, can you have too much?
I suppose what I am asking is what is the best way to get the right amount?

it isnt a problem to have too much as your body gets rid of whats not needed, i was advised to take a suplement as well as eating wholemeal bread and spinach (and others but i have preggy brain!)

Thanks.
See I eat a lot of that kind of food anyway, so I knew I would be getting some, but probably not enough, so I was going to take a supplement just to make sure, but was worried about overdosing!
So are you trying for a baby then?
You can take a pregnancy supplement once pregnant which includes folic acid but if you are trying to conceive then i suggest taking just a folic acid which you can get from any chemist.
To be honest I wouldn't bother.
no rhona, i am 5 and a half months pregnant lol
