No Power to stereo

I recently connected my own Parrot Bluetooth handsfree kit to my stereo and got it working fine. Yesterday I took my stereo out so that I could show someone how I had connected it as he had just bought one and had problems getting it working so, once we had looked at it I put the stereo back in however I was struggling so I had to use a bit of force.

When I had the stereo back in it wouldn't turn on and there wasn't any power to the parrot handsfree either. which makes me think that it is a problem with the power and not the stereo as the parrot should turn on regardless of the stereo.

I have checked the fuse in the back of the stereo and checked the wires and they look fine. I have also disconnected the Parrot to see if that was causing the problem but still no power.

I have a Volkswagon Golf 1.6 year2002

I have checked the fuse box in the car but they seem fine.

Has anyone got any other suggestions for me to check?

Have you checked BOTH fuseboxes? One under the dash & other in the engine bay & does the fag lighter still work?
