The nation spoke as one true voice about the Xmas No.1, but what will happen now to One True Voice... And will Pete Waterman keep his part of the deal???!

As we speak the boys are in the studio hard at work recording the album which if my inside info is correct on there will be ZERO cover versions on and a few of the trax will be originals written by the band themselves....and as for pete keeping his end up i can't see why not after all it is a legally binding contract!
If this question was to be re-posted here in six months time we'd all be asking... "One True Voice? What's that?" Sadly, there'll be more dross along to take their place, but this particular variation on a theme will be rightly consigned to the dustbin of history. Or did I miss anything suggesting any of the members have any taalent beyond smiling and half-holding a tune?
Waterman will still be wheeled out as a talking head on I Love The 80's-style programmes but his massive miscalculation over the Christmas No.1 will have warned off a few record companies from working with him again. I hope.
For the record, the one boy band with any kind of staying power will be Blazing Squad, though it pains me to say it!

Since I am not a 3 year old who wants to be spoon fed, I conspicously failed to buy either - they're both utter pants. What a waste of my ears to have to listen to that cynical load of tripe. Pete Waterman will continue to churn out lowest common denominator rubbish until consumers demand better. Sadly I fear we may have a while to wait.
Are there any boys under the age of 20 who aren't aspiring DJs or in a band? The music is one step up from nursery rhymes to my ears (which may be why why little girls love Gareth Gates) so predictable you can join in after hearing a verse and a chorus. Real talent seems to be in mastering the chord change up a semi-tone for the final chorus and a bit of Mariah Carey-in-pain style freeform vocals at the end. They could be doing a lot worse though and everyone deserves a bit of excitement and a crack at their dreams. I don't know where Blazing Squad come from, but theres a town with no lads left to hang about on street corners.
Quick question to sft42: if the album has no cover versions, does that mean 'Sacred Trust' won't be on it? As to what will happen to Mr Waterman's 'male harmony group', they'll probably be forgotten by next month. After all, they were only created to race for the Xmas no. 1. Having said that, if they promise to keep people from buying Busted records, they can stay around as long as they like!
It's interesting the way pop is presented and marketed these days - boy bands and solos continue to be the kind of guy yo could bring home to meet your granny - Wll Young, Westlife, and girl bands and solos look ever more likely to ravage anything with a p"*is and a pulse within a five mile radius - Aguilara, Sugarbabes. let's not be too hard on Pete Waterman - his track record of writing and producing pop hits is unassailable, and no-one is perfect.
andy hughes - interesting defence of Waterman but this is the Monstrous Pop World that he, more than just about anyone, has created. You're only as good as your last effort and if your last effort wasn't up to scratch, you're out on your ear. Like the gruesome Toploader (oh, how I laughed when I heard they'd been dropped!) Waterman should be up the job centre around... about.... now!
Yes sacred trust is a Bee Gees song (sad thoughts on the passing of Maurice BTW) but it was written for them...and as i personally know one of the guys in the band i can say that he at least does have musiccal talent having released a couple of albums of his own stuff locally and having played guitar in bands for years.....It's not really my type of music either being disposable pop but of this genre comes some gems and not all music has to be Dylanish or have meaning, so lets hope the guys enjoy it while it lasts and who knows looks at a Mr R. Williams from a disposable pop band now the biggest male star in the UK.....from small acorns and the like...
