Notes in a double octave?

Can anyone tell me how many notes in a double octave. I am completely un-musical, so I don't even understand the question. Help, please, all you musicians.

well theres 8 in an octave so i would guess that a double octave is 16

There are only 15 notes in a double octave because the top note of the first octave is also the bottom note of the second one.
