Nothing better than a good cover (Sinéad O'Connor's version of "Nothing Compares 2 U", or Jimi Hendrix's "All Along the Watchtower"), nothing worse than a bad one (Rolf Harris's "Stairway to Heaven" - wrong on so many levels!).

To be honest any version of the Beatles' original would be an improvement.

And Ella (not that one):
Nirvana's version of The man who sold the world.

Congratulations! You have managed to live in a world with access to music like never before, and you have still managed to avoid the Wet Wet Wet version!

I'd strive to keep it that way if I were you!!!

Ellipsis - I adore Rolf's version of Stairway - I am able to divorce the art from the artist.

It is one of twenty-two versions you can find here -

Strongly recommended especially the Beatnix version!
A good cover version should offer something different to the original. Johnny Cash's Hurt is a cracking cover version, Jade Richards above is just someone doing a reasonable job of an Adele song.
How do you put a YouTube video clip into the answer as opposed to a link?
Copy and paste the https://youtube.com url on the vid clip that you want to post.

Give it a try.
I see, thanks, tonyav, I didn't realise we just did the same as for any other link and thought I was missing something.
Give it a go, Garaman.
And here's the original for comparison.
This does it for me; even better than Christine Mevie's version with Fleetwood Mac

OK, tonyav, as I can't think off hand of my favourite cover version (it might even be Hurt above) here is one of favourite covers. The difference for me being that it isn't really a different version. Volume needs to be high!
