Looks Catholic to me.
The 'A M' might stand for Ave Maria. There's a cross there, too. Could it be a badge of a guild of Catholic/Christian nurses?

Could the MA mean Mary of the Assumption???
Question Author
Another member on my facebook group come up with the following observations, The lilies, stars and rose (bottom middle shield) represent (the Virgin) Saint Mary. The MA stands for Mary of the Assumption (going to heaven, hence the stars). If I was to hazard a guess, the badge is a school badge. Nb. Masonic stars come in sevens and Mary is nearly always pictured holding lilies. can anyone add to this???
AM's very common for Ave Maria
