Hi Tilly, The Crystal became Tiffany's - there is one in Newcastle-on-Tyne, hence the Thomson's road manager's confusion.

Then it became Zanzibars, and now it's boarded up - shame.

Sorry you missed me at The Place, and sorry i wasn't old enough to enjoy its early days - Rod Stewart played there, and Millie was the opening night act. Real disco history!

That said, they do manage to 're-locate' some venues, so it's possible.

There are some 'all-nighters' scattered around The Potteries - The King's Hall is a great venue - location for the film 'Soul Boy' where it doubled for the Casino - which is also a car park now!!!

Thanks Yilly, A piece of useless info for you about the Kings hall Stoke, they used the Kings hall stoke a couple of years ago to make the film 'Soul Boy' because of it's similarity ( inside ) to what Wigan Casino looked like.

Just noticed that on your Kings hall link that one of the DJ's is Kev Roberts, I remember him well Yilly, used to be one of the DJ's at the Casino.

I know that Keith Minshull was acting as an advisor during filming, and one of the jobsworths refused to let him into the King's Hall one day!!!!!
