yes he did.......as quoted below.......

"Before Brian formed his own band, he played with: John Keen (Dixieland), Bill Nile Delta Jazz Band, The Cheltone Six, The Ramrods, Rhode Island Red & The Roosters (Eric Clapton also played with this band)"

i am now trying to find out exactly when for you :-)

it would appear that he had left it by 1960 .

so i guess as he is credited as a founding member of this band you would be looking at him being in it sometime during the period of 1958 to 1959.
