Why is it that you can say "I don't like him/her" without even having met or spoken to them? I was listening to the radio this morning and Chris Evans had Jools Holland on with him. Without thinking I said "I can't stand him". Now I've never met the man so why would that be my reaction? Judgemental or what?
I think we're all a bit guilty of that Maggie, I can't stand Victoria Beckham, the woman grates me, I've never met her and have no idea what she's like.
Some people you just don't take to I guess. I've never met sporty spice but I find her extremely irritating if I see her on telly and have to turn over. There's a few celebrities I feel like that about, but it's based on an experiance of that side of them at least. They could be completely different in private. Same other way round, there's celebrities I really like (Stephen Fry for example) but he could be a real sh!t in private... I'll never know!
Hi sir, prize. One of my children absolutely loves Frankie Boyle, and we watched some reruns of something on Dave last night where he was extremely witty/funny without being vulgar. It's a shame he seems to have a nasty streak.
Hey! Frankie Boyle is my best mate. No, not really I lied.
Mrs cook, who is a very outspoken person and will never use 10 words when 30 will do, is often heard to exclaim Oh I can't stand him (or her). My meek reply is usually Well they do not think very much of you either! She also talks and shouts at the tv. I really must increase the dosage. ;-)
It could be called "judging a book by it's cover" and is something we all do despite being warned never to do it...
We should to be fair...read the book before making our decision and unless we do, that first impression sticks....same with people...first impressions are all we have to go on as these "stars" such as Frankie Boyle and Posh Beckam are out of reach. So we hate/love them without good reason...JMO.
...and I hate Chris Evans with a passion...can't stand the little twit....Heh heh!
