old comedians

Years ago (and I mean a long time) there was a foreign (English speaking- ish) comedian, could have been German or Austrian who used to mispronounce words deliberately. Please, does anyone, or their grandparents, know his name? He was very funny.

You don't mean Stanley Unwin do you? He used to have a weird language all of his own.
I think you may be thinking of Victor Borge. He was also a very good pianist. One of his funniest sketches was about punctuation.
It sounds like Victor Borge to me also.

Victor Borge was on the Royal variety loads of times and always wore one of those shiny dinner suits, he was a foreign cross between Les dawson and Tommy Cooper.
As Brainiac says, he was a brilliant pianist, certainly of concert ability. One of his sketches involved him playing a piece of music where he supposedly had the music upside down and the orchestra were in stitches at him, not to mention the audience. He also did a sketch about inflation, where any word that involved a number, would have the number increased by one, e.g. "any two for eleveniss?", i.e. anyone for tennis. He said he had a relative in the United States Air Fiveses (forces) who had a bruise on his five head. I have some of his videos. A very funny man of brilliant musical ability.
