Hi there

Does anyone know how long a provisional driving licence is valid. My daughter has lost hers and she had it originally 8 years ago when she decided she didn't want to drive and now, yes, she wants to learn.

I think the old paper ones were valid for life but the new photo ones are valid for ten years. If you go to this link, it tells you how to replace it. http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/DriverLic ensing/NeedANewOrUpdatedLicence/DG_4022085
Driving entitlement for holders of both old style paper licences and newer photocard licences is to age 70 but whereas the paper licence remains valid for the full period, each issue of photocard licence has a 10 year validity and requires renewal as indicated by TCL.
