i am looking to put some vents onto my bonnet. i have looked around for these and now im stuck. is it just simply a case of spraying them to the colour i want, cutting out a hole and sticking them on me car?or is it a bit more complicated than that?

Why do you want to fit these? and what car are you fitting them to? If it is just to tart up an old Nova or Escort or similar, to make it look like its got something interesting under the bonnet, then it probably just look naff, and in that case I cant see why you would need to cut holes in the bonnet, just spray them and whack them on! They will never look as if they belong there, so it hardly matters how you do it. Remember that they will create extra drag and actually adversly affect the cars perfomance! If you have done some tuning work, especially fitting a turbo, and you actually need some more under bonnet cooling then I guess you will need to cut the holes, but you still need to get the things in the right place airodynamically, not always easy. Personally I would think about other options, like fitting an oil cooler, or an extra cooling fan, both will be effective without adding the dreaded 'boy-racer' look to your car!

thanks, i havent got any engine mods but i just want 2 make the front of my car stand out without it costing too much. cheers anyway!
It'll be standing out for all the wrong reasons. As will you. Why don't you fit some under-car neon lighting whilst you're at it.

yea ive already got them just got to fit them. i have done quite a lot to thefront but im just looking for more things to do.i dont suppose you know whether the neon tubes break easily do you? because i have heard that they can be fairly brittle and was just curious.
Sigh...

what do you mean by that then?
what car is it?

Lol@ Morello,

Millsy, I think Morello was being ironic!

oh basically hes taking the ****, didnt get that. what have you got against that kinda thing then? im not starting an argument but i was just wondering what made you have that response
The point is that all that tasteless stick/bolt on rubbish that you can buy in Halfords just makes a car look bloody laughable. A Nova with a noisy back box and some stupid strip lights under the sills is never going to look like anything other than what it is, a horid little shopping trolly. And no amount of bolt on spoilers or bonnet vents or other ill fitting junk is going to transform an ordinary car into a "performance" model, honestly, it just wont. Better to save the money and spend it on getting a decent car with some real credibility in the first place.
Exactly. Thank you, Impret-Sir.
