I've recently acquired an old Vespa (65 I think)!

I need to know what petrol to put in!

I presumed that being old it would need LRP, but have been told that you can use leaded or unleaded as long as you use the 2 stroke oil! But the peron who told me this is drunk, so I wanted to check!

Thanks

mmmmmmmm, assuming the thing is a two stroke, it should not need any lead in the fuel , (the lead was there basically to lubricate the heads of the inlet and exhaust valves, which it doesnt have!), so I would think that you could use unleaded, provided you do, as you say, include two stroke oil in the mixture. Modern four star petrol has a higher octaine rating than the two star stuff that your bike will have been used to, so it should be fine.
