i am by no means an expert, and i would wait to see what some of the other guys say, however, it sounds like a problem with the spark plugs or maybe your HT leads are not connected properly. HT leads being the leads that connect from the sparks to the engine. Just try to push them in a bit.

Good luck

There are literally hundreds of possibilities for the causes of those symptoms. Since the main purpose of most things connected to the engine (apart from the transmission) is to keep the engine going, if any one of them should start to fail the engine will invariably not run. However, try the easiest things first. HT leads, spark plugs, air filter, battery and electrical connections, battery charge, fuel blockage (probably the filter), fuel tank vent blocked, faulty fuel pump, faulty injectors (if it has injectors), vacuum leaks in inlet hoses, and so on and so on.

In this modern age, it is usually a problem with the engine management system, either go to the dealer , costly, or try a local tuning place, who might be able to help, probalby looking about 40 for a tune up, without parts, tell them you only want a diagnosis, not a repair, trhat way they wont go and buy you a new ECU, and kick you square in the nuts
