Check the ball joint in the system at the front downpipe to system connection. If it has one .. and I suspect it has, there may be a spring missing/broken, or the seal may need replacing.

you can check for holes by running car to warm and look under the car, what you're looking for is vapour coming out, you know when you've seen it. if so and its small get some exhaust gum from a local motor factors and spread some on.
Metal expands when heated so any small hole could get a bit bigger, thats one reason why gun gum does not seal it for very long..

Check your joints aren't leaking.

I have a Renault Scenic which had a new exhaust fitted by the "specialists" Kwik Fit in October one year. The following February it failed the MOT emmissions check because the joint between the Catalytic Converter and the middle section of the exhaust was leaking. Kwik Fit remade the joint and it passed. Next year it failed the MOT for the same reason and the garage fixed it for me, it also failed the next two years and the garage remade it again. I have now had another exhaust fitted by National Tyre & Autocare as the silencer started discharging the fibre glass lining out the tail pipe and it passed the next MOT no problems.
