To cut a long story short........the landlord of the pub has no car tax, it expired May 2010. Who other than direct gov.uk would be interested in knowing this? the people that own the pub that he runs?? the council??
Ring DVLA, give them the make, reg. no and location and they will come round and clamp it.
He will have to tax the car AND pay £100 release fee within 24 hours or the money goes up/it will get towed
It has been reported on line by 2 different people. The last time somebody was reported on line for having no car tax, it took at least 4 months before anything was actually done, so that was a total of approx 6 months the person got away with no car tax.
I reported someone whose tax had run out 3 months previously - the car was clamped 4 days later.
i don't know if it made a difference because I phoned rather than use the website....
