Vauxhall Corsa - Windscreen Wipers not working

Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't! When you put the wipers on, you can hear the reelies click in, but the wipers just don't budge, even with a manual push. But then, an hour later, they'll just work on their own. Anyone had any experience of this? if so, any suggestions on what we can do to sort it out please?

Thanks, xx

I would say check the timer/relay contacts, try another one.
If it's not that .. and this is the most likely item .. change the wiper switch assy (IF it is a column stalk assy)
most common problem is they seize up - as water penetrates down the stem on the drivers side, check behind the scuttle panel near the brake fluid reservoir to see if it has a rust stain on the bulkhead, if it has then this is the likely cause of your problem,
you can get another from a breakers yard for about £30 / £40, be sure to check this is of a newer car as possible & that it works OK,
you can spend ages trying to get it moving with penetrating oil etc, you may get lucky.
i have had to do this on my sons corsa on an X - reg two years ago
