next my husband has been accused of driving without due care and attention, a car tried to come up along side him and says that he wiggled and caught her wing, he was driving a lorry at the time, the damage did not match with any part of the lorry

If it is the power steering pump motor fuse, you may unfortunately have a developing problem with the motor. It's worth having the motor connection checked first, tho.
