With many people being sceptical about garages failing cars for MOT and advising work to be done .

Why not take your car to a Council MOT testing station ( some councils do MOT'S on private vehicles ) - that way you know that any work stated to be required to be done , is correct , as the council does not do any repairs and therefore has nothing to gain

MOTs are a bit odd, so many grey areas and quite often the opinion of the MOT tester, it could fail on different things at different garages but neither have broken the rules...
