abs light coming on vwgolf 1.6 se

can anybody help. have just had new battery fitted on vw golf 1.6 se. ABS light is now coming on. did not come on before. any suggestions please. Garage says that it is a coincidence and nothing to do with them fitting battery?? thanks

fitting a battery in it self wouldnt cause it but by disconnecting and reconnecting the power it may have prompted the ECU to throw up a fault code . You may find after a few starting sequences it may go out .

thanks Chas. the garage now are saying that it is showing a ABS Pump fault.Will keep check and see if light goes out as i said there was no faults before having battery fitted. thank you.
