Using car for business

If I wanted to use my car to carry out my job as opposed to travelling to a fixed place of work how much would my insurance go up by?

How long is a piece of string. I would suggest you try one of the many insurance web sites.
There are three types of business use:

1) Travelling to and from a fixed point of work (ie commuting)

2) As above PLUS traveliing to and from fixed appointments (this is what I do)

3) As (2) but also general cold calling.

What you pay will very much depend on your age, your sex, your experience, your no claims not to mention your car, so it would be impossible to give you any indication of price.
It also depends on your business- taxi, transporting dangerous goods, driving instructor, deliveries, or just driving to appointments, etc
