Has anyone any interesting stories to tell about their Mini.
I bought a new Mini Traveller in the early sixties. It was fine until it started raining, then it just petered out. I discovered that the distributor was located under the engine, about 12" from the road, so that as soon as it rained and water splashed up, it drenched the distributor, and the engine cut out - very scary if you are in the right hand lane of a dual-carriageway. Anyway, I solved the problem by tying a plastic bag over it, to keep the wet out, and it was no more trouble all the time I had the car.

I used to take 5 other people to work in my mini van. It was such a crush getting them all in. It usually decided not to start when they were all in the back and they used to have to pile out again. At least I had plenty of muscle to push it.

BMC used to manufacture a plastic shield kit as an accessory, which kept the rain off the dizzy, coil & leads.
