My old dear (R reg Micra) has a dodgy sunroof - it won't close airtight with the handle, so I have gaffer taped it so it doesn't leak (classy, eh?!)
Will this stop it passing it's MOT?

so long as it's safe.. that's the whole point of the MOT.

so if it might fly off when you're whizzing down the motorway (as much as you can in a Micra!), it's doomed!
Not in the slightest. though it may make the inspector pay more attention to other things (although it shouldn't, an MOT should be an MOT no matter what the car looks like... but it doesn't always work like that)
sunroof is not part of the MOT, no reason to fail, even if it wasnt actually on the car it would still pass!!

thank you all - it passed!
I would say that I would pass the MOT as it is only a safety test. Goodluck!
