javascript circular navigation system

Hi
I want to make a javascript rather then flash. Bascially i would love to have my images as the navigation in a circle but looking like it is slightly flat so they go smaller as they move round the circle.
Does this make anysense.
Basically it is like a halo and you move mouse on an image and it moves round the cricle to the front. if you click on it to goes to another page. or somethin liek this would be great. I don;t relaly know flash so java that is easy to edit would be wonderful.
any suggestions throw this way please
