Failing to report an acident.

The local constabulary arrived at my doorstep today, informing me that one of my drivers had been involved in an acident (with a parked car!) and had failed to report it.

Hell mend her, she deserves everything she gets. But is this an endorsable offence?

Yes it is an endorsable offence. Failing to stop and/or failing to report an accident.

f you are her employer, you are not liable for the offence, it is just down to the driver.

(Some other offences, the driver and the employer are both liable - but this is not one of them)

As long as you give the police the details of who was driving, then it is the sole responsibility of the driver

Thanks, y-cymro, she is a self-employed driver who works for me????!! (or, in the light of your response, perhaps DID work for me!)

noknowledge, thanks very much!!! LOL. You sound like my missus!

Not only is it endorseable (5-10 points, or a disqualification), it is one of the very few driving offences for which one can be sent to prison .

This is not a remote possibility in the circumstances you describe as the option is only used in serious hit and run type incidents where death or serious injury has occurred.

is there is a possibility that there was no accident?
i once had a car driver try to claim i'd hit his car with a company motorbike. on the day this occurred i was 125 miles away on a different job. he'd seen me the next day or so and thought he'd use my reg number to claim for someone else spanking his car.
good job i was in brum not london that day and my company had records of it.
