peugeot 207 mpg gauge

Hiya, can someone help. I am just about to pick up my new car from the dealers, however, when I gave it a test drive the figure on the MPG guage did not change. My friend as a peugeot and her MPG gauge constantly changes. I have mentioned it to the dealer and he says they should not change, it will only change occaisionally and show an average. Any ideas what is right?

Hi.My 307 has 2 mpg gauges. One relates to the present driving which changes all the tine, the other shows the average mpg over a long distance. Try present the end of the indicater stalk to change the mode ot the computer. good luck

I used to have a 406 and that changed constantly. However, it may be set to show different readings ie. fuel consumption, average consumption, range using fuel left etc.

plus, downhill in top gear with foot off accelerator, it will go off the scale, 100+ mpg. lol

as vulk said, press the end of the stalk and different modes appear. trip 1/trip2/ averages/ now.
