Car tyre pressures

My car 'feels' as I drive along that the tyre pressures are low. I have tried the air hose and (digital) gauge at my local garage and it says that they are fine. However, the tyre also LOOK low to me. I know that the tyre gauges are notoriously unreliable and are almost never calibrated. What is the best way to check my tyre pressures reliably? Are these hand held digital gauges any good?

You can buy a good quality tyre pressure gauge in any decent accessory shop. Can't comment on digital ones - when you need them the battery is usually flat! Manual one is far more dependable. Worth checking on another gauge to make sure.
Try several different garages to check what the pressures read on different gauges. Most gauges sold are accurate to about +/- 1%, the digital ones are ok
You may have low profile tyres which always look a bit dodgy.
