600cc Motorbike recommendations?

Hi Folks,

I'll soon be buying my first 600cc motorbike (in the UK) and am interested in something like a Triumph TT600 or Kawa ZZR etc. However, perhaps I might be narrowing my search a little.

Looking to spend around 2k for a secondhand fairly decent bike, has anyone got any other recommendations of bikes I could look at?

hi, firstly do you want to be comfortable and a little bit dull, or do you want to ache all over, but have the biggest grin this side of xmas. the honda cbr 600 is a great alround bike, you simply cant fault them, apart from the fact that they are just too predictable(boring). for the money you want to spend my advice would be the gsxr 600, yes its hard work riding long distance, but its such a good bike for ragging around, lastly i would recommend the kawa 6r, great bike it can cruise and its good enough for a weekend thrash

Have you considered Suzuki's SV650?, obviously not a full on sports bike but highly regarded as a great first "big" bike.
www.sv650.org site has lot of honest advice on buying and owning one. Certainly the bike I'm hoping to get later in the year - if my new house stops swallowing all my money.
