Tail light dash light problems

I have just noticed a problem with my lights, my dashboard lights sometimes dont light up and when this happens my tail lights dont work but my headlights and brake and fog lights all work as normal even if my tail lights dont work, all my fuses are ok, would appreciate some help as i need my car for work saturday night

Its an escort mk6

happend to me with mk3 escort,connections on back lights were rusty, sprayed some WD40 on them (connectors and lights)solved problem

Solved the problem by swapping the indicator unit as the contact in the switch was the problem, thanks for all your suggestions
