Similar to an Audi A2 but made currently?

My Dad is looking to buy a car - used but only a year or two old. He used to like the Audi A2. But given that these are no longer manufactured - what do you suggest would be worth a look.
He wants something that looks professional and smart as he's taking early retirement and will be doing consultancy work - meaning a fair bit of driving.

A friend of mine was in a similar situation, wanted the A2, but couldn't find the right one as they're few and far between. In the end the alternative she was considering, the Merc A class turned out to be a good car. She got an automatic. However, the 1.4 can be a bit sluggish. She's never regretted buying it though and is pleased she didn't get the A2
