VW Campervan 1991 Transporter Engine

Bought an H Reg VW Transport 1991 (H) a few months ago. She has 127K on the clock

Unfortunately the engine has developed a clicking sound which is consistent with the speed of the revs.

Taken it to a garage and they have said the sound is coming from within the engine and may need stripping down or possibly a new engine.

I am gutted - but am struggling to find someone who can give me any more information about what is actually wrong with it and how much it may cost to repair/replace.

Has any one had experience of this or can recommend any one to help. (I am in Cov/Rugby area).
