Cockpit warning display constantly shows "oil lack "when oil level is fine. Does anybody know where the sender is located to produce this error ?

This may be completely the wrong answer but this happened with our Vectra and the garage said that the issue wasnt with the sensor as we thought it was, it was because the engine probably had a small clog in it which prevents the oil from getting to where it needs to be in time - making it think its low on oil. (apparently the holes for the oil to go throguih are like pin holes so get dirty very easily.) They did an oil and filter change and it seemed to go away it only flickers now when you get in-to high revs. They suggested an engine clean to resolve the issue.
