BMW imobiliser!!

Hi guys,Ihave a BMW 518 tourer 1996 with chip and key but without remote locking,I parked it up the other day and now it wont start up! the engine is dead but other things work on it,any ideas about resetting the imobiliser.
prev Is it a right off ?

Will that be an E34 ?

I reprogrammed a key of mine once by turning it in the ignition a number of times in accordance with some instructions found here and on like sites.
