I've been told the bearings have gone in the gearbox and the cost to replace them is from �475 + VAT to �595 + VAT depending on which bearings have gone.

It is a V reg 1.2 Clio


Does this seem a reasonable price?

i would be inclined to get a exchange g/box.
sounds about right for that reg, just make sure you have a decent guarantee with it
Id get a second hand one from a car breaker it will be much cheaper
