We recently brought a Ford Galaxy 1.9 TDi.When driving between 50 and 60mph it starts to vibrate. We have had the wheels balanced. Can you tell us what causes it as the garage does not??

it might be your front discs
top suspension mounts or d/shaft

where do you feel the vibration the most? in the steering wheel? or your seat? That is the speed most vibrations actually start so I need more info to answer this right. There are numerous possibilities. How many miles/km's on this car? Does anything make it worse?-turning to the left or right while vibrating? etc....

Thanks for your replies guys.

The galaxy is a 1.9 TDI (2001). It has done 55,000 miles. The vibration starts around 48mph and stops at around 60mph. I have had the wheels balanced and the discs checked. This vibration happens in 4th, 5th and 6th gears at the same speed. It feels like the engine may be shaking, causing the vibration but it may be something else. I have had part of one drive shaft replaced (the side the engineer said had a little play in), but this made no difference. It makes no difference when you turn. Nothing seems to make it worse or better.
