Hi, can anyone please tell me what the problem is with my T reg Saxo (1.1), it tends to lose power (although i can amend this by throwing it into a lower gear) and it also revs up by itself (highly embarrassing when sitting at traffic lights (even when in neutral) as it looks like I'm trying to race cars off the lights, or I'm v impatient!:), I would say it was something to do with the idle, but would this cause it to nearly cut out and rev? Please help!

Hi. Loosing power in these cars is common and usually down to the coil packs but the revs are signifying a possible problem with the ECU or injection unit. The best thing to do would be take it to a 'non' dealer garage (dealers are too expensive) and have them hook it up to a diagnostics computer. Should cost around 30.
i agree with above . but first i would get the idle control valve checked out it may just be dirty & would cause the problems mentioned
