Car bodywork and upholstery protection with a guarantee

Can anyone recommend an affordable service for a brand new car?

The car dealer is offering me a service where by they coat the exterior of the car and the seats with some kind of protective coating. That help reduce wear and tear of the car.

Any suggestions, as their recommendation is extremely expensive.

Thanks

Not only is it expensive it is totaly unecessasary, do not pay for it, it is a scam to give the dealers more profit!!!!!!!!

If you want to preserve the finish of your car, give it a good polish using a top quality wax based polish, keep it clean by washing using a proper car shampoo a soft sponge and plenty of water and just keep the upholstery clean.

Enjoy your new car.

I fully agree with Toureman.

A complete rip off. Many years ago dealers used to talk customers into undersealing their car. Expensive, sounds a good idea but did more harm than good.

Tell them to forget it and if they get a bit funny say you will go to another dealer.

Sorry, but I cannot agree.

I had my Honda treated with "sureguard" before I took delivery and it is excellent. The dirt literally falls off when the car is washed and the deep shine is brilliant. The inside of the car is also easy to clean as the dirt does not get into the upholstery or carpets.

My wife had her Clio treated with "V V P" by the dealer and this is also very good. Black is not an easy colour to finish well but all it needs is a wash and chamois to get good results.

I would agree that the treatment is not cheap but I think that relative to the cost of a new vehicle it is a small extra that I think is well worth it.

Yes its expensive, but, as les saisies said, if the finish is looked after the car acts like its permanently polished for ages.
The interior coating is good if you have children, spills like blackcurrant juice just dont stick and can be removed easily.
However if you do go for this protection please read the fine print very carefully. To get any work done under the "warranty" of this coating you need to use recommended carwash products/shampoos etc. or you loose all help.

All they use is Auto Glym Deep Gloss Shine. Which costs around 15 a bottle. Dont fall into the biggest scam in the world.

Ask yourself this most cars now come with a six year anti corrosion warranty as standard. Is any coat of anything going to stop scratches and stone chips? No

When you buy the car is it not going to be all glossy and shiny? Yes So what exactley does this coat of something do, nothing and plenty of it. Its a 200 pound scam.
