How can the treasurer of the Labour party not know of the millions of pounds in donations. What kind of ship is Blair running. Every penny should go through the treasurer. Fair play to the treasurer that he has taken this to the electoral commission as there is scope for widespread fraud here.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, blair and co couldnt run a bath let alone a country, and when I was doing a politics module as part of my degree course, I was told that the duty of her majesty's loyal opposition was to oppose, now we have them agreeing with and even voting with the government on issues such as education. what a wasted opportunity to defeat blair and call for a motion of no confidence in the PM

This is just simply staggering - although as 'I didn't know what my partner/husband/collegaue/dog/maiden aunt' (add any other name here) is a valid defence in the wonderful world of labour, expect there to be some frantic sweeping under carpets.

I am amazed that some people still hark back to Tory sleaze, which was more of a sexualinacarryonfilmtypeofway (oh come on, it was - Mellor's bit in a Chelsea top!) nature than financial impropriety/mortgage fraud/byers/Jowell/hodge/Blunkett/Iraq/40minutes etc etc etc...., the list is almost endless, when surely it is now fair comment that Labour has far outsleazed anything the Tories ever did!!!

hear hear flip-flop, even more galling when you hark back to 1997 and blair standing on the steps of No 10 and declairing that his government would be "whiter than white" and that gone were the days of tory sleaze, (unless he meant that it would be replaced by labour sleaze)
not wishing to defend Blair but flip-flop you are misremembering: Mellors was just a comic interlude; the problems that dogged Major were better represented by Neil Hamilton and Jonathan Aitken, which were much closer in style to the ones now besetting Labour.

flip-flop, I think you are overlooking cash for questions, perjury (2 prison sentences - Waterloo Station and evening at the Ritz), gerrymandering, illegal arms sales (and prosecuting innocent businessmen to protect politicians who lied), Pergau dam and Hamilton but to name a few

Labour deserve scrutiny and criticism, and where necessary people should take responsibility and resign. However, there is a long way to go until they replicate the extremes of the 80's and early 90's.

Why do we bother to vote? the whole bloody lot of them aren't worth the time of day! it makes me sick that these cretins are running our once great country, Blair,Brown,Prescott, Jowell what a bunch of *******,Forgot to mention Blunkett and Charles Clarke (fozzy bears twin brother)
raysparx you forgot to mention peter mandelson!!!!!!!! how on earth could you forget dear dear mandy?
Yes what a prat I am forgetting him,PLEASE forgive me,he should be at the top of list
