I've been told that a Fiesta and a Ka are the same car underneath. Is this true? Fiestas have longer bonnets than Kas. I have driven both and the Fiesta is way better in many ways.

same underpinnings but the suspension geometry is changed, in other words they took the shell off played with the suspension then designed a new top,

No they both are built on different platforms - otherwise the Ka would have changed when the new shape fiesta came out. The old shape fiesta and puma had the same platform - as did the mondeo and cougar.

Re driving both - it depends what you have - my wife drives a SportKa 1.6 SE and that is a great car to drive.

The company I used to work for made the Fiesta 'chasis' ( front and rear cross members) and the 4 suspension units and they are the same on Ka

The KA is based on the shortened previous generation fiesta (and ergo the puma) chasis and is a great drive.

The sport car is based around the Fiesta Zetec-S setup with a widened track and revised suspension.
