hi i've got a 3cylinder 1.2litre 12valve vw polo which will not start. i've got both fuel and spark although it looks like it might be overfueling please let me no if u come across this before

Check cambelt timing and check your air filter is not completelty blocked.let me know how you get on.

the car has a timing chain and the air filter box is off. still stuck am afraid

Hope you're not still stuck but my wife had a similar problem with her Ford Escort 1.4. Turned out to be a bad electrical connection for the fuel pump near but not in the fuse box. It took forever [a whole weekend] to find it. Also fitted new spark plugs. Good luck.
