Hi does anyone have any ideas how I can stop a cat scagging the soft top of my car please? Little bleeder is using it like a scratching post :(
I've tried lemon and orange scented things inside the car and sprayed on the hood but nothing seems to be working.

Thanks in advance.

Tilly likes being in the car. Do you want to borrow her for a few days?
I swear that she will get rid of the pesky cat. :-)

It's one of my flipping cats and I've got dogs so they're not one bit afraid of them, but I'd borrow yours just for a cuddle :) x
Swop it for a hard-top.
Try putting chilli powder on the roof
try sticking something on top of the top - cling film, bubble wrap, something noisy. At least it's not the paintwork
Calicogirl, many liquid repellents, as Bookbinders reply or amazon, or other suppliers, e.g. Petsrus, but whatever you choose, do a test area first, to make sure your hood doesn't react to whatever chemicals are contained within plus most recommend that you retreat every couple of days.

Oooh will try all of that, there'll be nothing left of it otherwise little toad :) Thank you x
Hate long links, sorry.

That might work Mamy if it feels slippy, I'm loathe to spray too much on it because it's burgundy and I'm terrified it'll do weird things to the colour :) x
The ultimate defence would be a motion sensitive watering spray thingy. Unless the cat actually enjoys water - they are contrary little Bs.
And if all the above fails a 12-bore shot gun.
Wolf definitely they don't like water round my way, I didn't hate them, just don't enjoy them using my seed beds as a loo. I use a children's pump up long range water pistol to deter them, if I see them. But most are pretty clued up now, and disappear as soon as they hear the door open.
Tonyv - it amuses me how cats (Frankie is 5.7kg and none too bright) can cause so many problems for us so-called intelligent humans. They really are much smarter than we give them credit for.

In a little while, I will be told that it is bedtime and he will not stop screaming at me until I go upstairs. I am allowed to read or play games on my Kindle until such time as I am advised that it is time to put the light out.

Susan,,,,,,, worse than a husband :*)
I agree with Canary. Exchange the darn cat for a hard top.
anne - with cats you can stop them from straying by cutting their balls off. But they will still stop off at different houses and businesses for food and treats.

I think that I will stick with my old man (13years of age). He is on expensive cat food for his kidney failure but I still think that he is more economical than getting married.

If you trade your man in for a newer model nobody would be shocked and they wouldn't think any less of you. If I got rid of Frankie and got a kitten I would be demonised and ostracized. Anyway - kittens are evil ninjas.

I wondered if you may have got a kitten after Merlins death ?

I've managed to find a man with his own cat wolf, that causes havoc as well :) x
