Is there a regular interval as to when a new CD for the GPS system needs to be replaced. I bought this 2008 model 6 months ago and fear that it is still using the original GPS system disc ?

I don't have a BMW but I have a Volvo of the same era so it may be a similar system to yours. My discs (DVDs) come as a set of 4 to cover all Europe and were updated annually until 2013 when they stopped. The reason being , I think, is that the updates were so expensive (£200+) that people with cars that old wouldn't be buying them. The discs also updated the sat-nav software.
