does anyone know if its actually legal or not to randomly stop and do staff searches in there own time, eg when leaving off or in your breaks. after all the sports direct news just lately it appears not.? thanks.

many firms do staff searches but think they do it in there own time,thats where SD get it wrong
My son worked for UPS for several years and they did random checks on workforce as they left for home.
as usual - if you are a devotee of the law thread - it depends on what the employment contract says

SD had a six strikes and you are out
and I wondered if 'having a baby in the lavatory' would earn you a strike, really was true ....

the thing that really stuck out was the original Beeb report at 5 pm that said:" Mike Ashley gave the MPs hell and went in fighting - his first two answers wiped the floor with them and set the scene of what was to come - to wit he was gonna manage the firm and not them "

which wasnt how I remembered it and we didnt hear from that particular fella again .....

Must be in the contract of employment and there are quite stringent requirements which need to be followed.
