Nice story.
Perhaps the police in America are a bit softer than ours.

Try that with the West Mercia cops and you'd probably get two tickets.

Have you ever got off a Speeding ticket you all? how did you do it?
TWR I worked with a chap who got off with speeding He was clocked on the M5 in Wales ( 50mph) near the tolls. He argued he was not speeding they said he was. He asked for the history of gun calibration (they have to be calibrated regularly) to be produced at the court. It was found the gun had not been calibrated to the makers intervals.
I got followed by a police van many years ago coming from Norwich, the copper pulled me over and said to me you were speeding, I said I was not, this went on for quite a few mins, I said to the police officer can you prove I was speeding, his reply, can you prove I was not, I said yes the HGV is fitted with a taco, is your van, he mumbled got in his van & went, Yes I had been speeding 50mph the speed limit for my lorry should have been 40mph.
