^based on it being in excellent condition.(which it is!)
I would rather put my car in an auction than go to webuyanycar.

Not only do they offer you a very low amount, they put in small print that there is a £50 admin charge aswell.
Garages / Dealer price's will always be higher Ellie, this is the Battering price, they can afford to drop "£2>>>£300 when you have a cheeky sod like myself buying a car, that is their profit margin, they are talking about a car that they say A1 Mint Condition with low mileage.
Question Author
TWR, the Dealer Price given was £2533 so I thought I might get around £2 200 or £2 300? What do you think?
I honestly think you are being a bit optimistic here Ellie, you may prove me wrong but I doubt it, as said look on Auto Trade, Ebay, Piston Heads, Gumtree, with all your car's details & check it out, with respect to Baldric, I have dealt with youripmeoff.com & as Hopkirk stated, they will charge you admin Costs, needless to say I told them where to go, we all try for the brest possible resale price including myself, I am selling a car now that is a Minter, but I know the car is right, but to other people!!!! If you have the likes of Motor World in your area have a look around their cars & compaire prices, where in the UK are you? do you have a car supermarket where you live, if so have a look, just bide your time before selling, are you thinking of buying another? if so see what they off on the trade in, or is this the reason you are asking about your car?
Question Author
Thanks, TWR. I agree that maybe I'm being a bit optimistic! But, as you say, I know what great condition my car is in even if others don't. I intend buying a new car, maybe a Renault Captur, so I want to sell my car privately. As I said, I have a potential buyer. I just want to get the most I can. I don't want to give it away for nothing! This person would know that it is in good shape and that he would be getting a bargain.

Thanks, methyl. Just wonder why What Car's valuation was so high then. I gave them all the correct details and they came up with £2338.

Question Author
The mileage is low because I haven't been driving as much since I retired.
Question Author
I would definitely expect to get more than £1500, methyl.
elliemay, have a look on Ebay, Autotrader and the classified adverts in your local paper and see what sort of prices your particular model of car is fetching. You'll get a much better idea of what your car is worth that way.
Question Author
Thanks tonyav. Autotrader gave a valuation of £1900 which isn't too bad.
Question Author
Has anyone any experience of the Renault Captur as a possible next buy?
If your after a small(ish) crossover the Nissan Juke is better.

TWR, just for the record, we didn't deal with them, they were just one of the companies we used to get an idea of prices before talking to the dealer.
Question Author
Just don't like the shape of the Juke, tonyav.
Right then, have a read up on all the reviews that you can find on the Captur, and if you go to a dealership I'm sure they will arrange a test drive for you, elliemay.
Question Author
Thank you tonyav.
